M SCAVR / AED CVR / EX - S C / REX ARETAS The Nabatean king Aretas kneeling right, holding olive branch in his right hand and reins of camel standing beside him in his left. Rev. P HVPSAE / AED CVR / [C HVPS]AE COS / [PREIVE] / CAPTV Jupiter driving galloping quadriga to left, hurling thunderbolt with his right hand and holding reins in his left; below horses, scorpion right. Babelon (Aemilia) 8 and (Plautia) 8. Crawford 422/1b. RBW 1519. Sydenham 913. Beautifully toned and very attractive. The reverse struck somewhat off center , otherwise, extremely fine.
